Archiving, restoring, and retention

Documents can be moved into the Archive branch of the vault for a variety of reasons to limit access and available functionality. Only administrators have access to archive and restore documents. The Status value of archived documents is set to Obsoleted. Archived documents are automatically unpublished from access with Meridian Explorer. Documents in the archive are given a configurable retention period after which they are moved to an offline archive and purged from the system. Documents can be restored when there is no newer revision using the Meridian Enterprise Unretire command.
